This Week’s Bentos
I do not update my blog daily nowadays because my time is spent on other things. I’m currently busy with something else
But, I still do bentos for my hubby. They’re just simple bentos without cute characters in them. I try to pack 50% veggies, 30% protein and 20% carbohydrate in this week’s bentos. I use this percentage as a guideline to prepare him healthy bentos. Below are the bentos of this week, however, I didn’t take photos of all the bentos I made this week.
There were four dishes in the Friday Bento. He had stir fried long beans with tofu, pan fried chickens, fried egg with tomatoes and stir fried mushrooms with carrots and baby corns. He only had a little portion of white rice.
There were only two dishes and a soup in the Thursday Bento. Since there’re only two dishes, the portion of each dish was bigger. I made him pan fried pork fillets cut into small pieces so that he can eat easily as he likes to eat with chopsticks, stir fried kai lan with carrots and dried sole, a bowl of herbal soup and some rice topped with black sesame. I also steamed a small sweet corn for him. For his fruit bento, he had some orange slices, a mini mandarin orange and some dried apricots.
He had three onigiris with furikake for his Tuesday Bento. For the dishes, he had stir fried veggies and baby corns with sambal, unagi, homemade meatballs and some cherry tomatoes. He had orange slices and some cherries for today’s fruits.
Ever since I started to make him breakfasts, lunch bentos and controlling what we have for dinners, hubby said that his weight is maintained throughout the months. However, I feel he can and should increase his weight a bit.
