Snails Go Dating

There wasn’t any bento yesterday because hubby and I attended friends’ registration of marriage and had wonderful lunch with their families and friends.

Hubby is leaving for business trip today. I prepared some sushis for him. I guessed he would want something which he could put in his mouth easily so that he could have longer time to prepare for his trip. That’s what he usually does, gulping or swallowing in a large mouthfuls when he’s busy. Hence, I believed a bento of sushis would be more suitable for today’s lunch. However, he decided to spend time with me this morning as he’ll be away for two weeks. So, he had his lunch at home with me.

Bento 19

There’s a male snail and a female snail (with red cheek) in the bento. Judging from the smiles on their faces, they’re probably going on a date :) Besides a variety of sushis, there are also tempura prawns, deep fried salmon skins, broccolis, tomatoes and baby carrots hidden under the tempura prawns n salmon skins. Why my tempura prawns curled up while those we ate in restaurant didn’t? >_< My oil was too hot?

Snails go dating

They can still go dating although they have to carry the big heavy shells with them. Snail often symbolizes laziness but they aren’t lazy to love =P

Lovely snail couples

Opps, the face of the male snail is spoilt. Sadly, I didn’t have time to redo.

Bento 20

This is the snack bento. Some dragon fruits, edamame and butter cakes that I baked.
