Dice Bento

Shanie’s Hokkien Mee…Hehe

Today’s breakfast was homemade Hokkien Mee. Hubby and I adventured into making our own Hokkien Mee last Sunday and we have cooked enough to keep some for our breakfast for today.

Dice Bento

He’s given 8 rice cubes for his lunch today and I made the rice cubes to look like dice. Added some edamame as there’s still empty space between the rice cubes.

Teriyaki salmon and corns with butter

Roast pork belly and two small octopuses

The roast pork belly is homemade! Yes, we tried roasting pork belly last Sunday too and the result was good. So, he certainly gets roast pork belly in his bento today after his hard work in helping me to prick the skin on the pork belly using a fork to get such crackling roast pork belly :) He also gets two baby octopuses in his bento today. He bought and cleaned the baby octopuses himself and stored them in a container nicely for me to cook this morning! And after cleaning, he claimed that the octopuses he cleaned were the cleanest, cleaner than those we used to eat in restaurants. Haha! :D

Broccolis and a cherry tomato

Wanted to pack more cherry tomatoes but there’s simply no more space to squeeze them in. I start to find this bento box too small to pack. Maybe i should switch to packing the dishes to the bottom tier which is a larger one which i pack his rice in since he doesn’t want much rice.

Soy sauce with chilli padi and some lime juice

I actually packed the sauce with chilli padi in this cute Stitch sauce container that he likes (his favourite cartoon character) for him but the sauce will leak from the container. So I had to change to using other sauce container. This sauce container is still new and I want to use it :( It’s suitable to put thicker sauce like mayonnaise, tomato sauce or chilli sauce only.

Soy sauce with lime juice

So, ended up packing the sauce in this piggy sauce container. He only gets the soy sauce with lime juice, without the chilli padi.

Prepared a fruity snack bento for his afternoon tea with strawberries, blueberries, grapes and two bear shaped jellies.

My lunch

As usual, I’ll be having the same lunch as hubby.
