Bunny Bento & Pikachu Bento
This is a bunny bento although the bunny looks funny or doesn’t look like one
I made a big round onigiri stuffed with tuna chunks for the bunny face. The tuna chunks were cooked with miso and some pepper and then mixed with roasted sesame and black sesame. For the ears, I mixed the rice with tuna chunks instead of stuffing the tuna chunks in the rice. The face details are cut out from nori. As I was not sure how a bunny looks like, this is the end result. When hubby saw the bunny onigiri I made, he asked why is it so ugly
He then searched for bunny pictures and sent to my handphone
Besides bunny onigiri, there’re two more love shaped onigiris, one with the tuna chunks stuffed inside the onigiri and one with the tuna chunks mixed with the rice. I steamed a quail egg and placed on top of the onigiri.
There’re two little baby carrots for the bunny! Added parsley on the baby carrots to make the leaves for the carrots.
Today’s lunch has no meat but a lot of rice and tuna fish to fill his stomach. For veggies, I give him broccolis.
This is a simple and easy to eat lunch as hubby will be leaving for business trip today and so will be busy. So I make him easy-to-eat lunch. Here is another easy-to-eat lunch I prepared for him some time ago.
He also gets an afternoon bento with a Pikachu in the bento. He told me Pikachu is also one of his favourite cartoon characters except the Stitch. So here is one Pikachu for him.
Inside the bento, there’re also some sushi with tuna, some bread rolled with chicken ham, steamed corns with butter, a cherry tomato and some cherries for fruit.
The Pikachu is made with mashed potato. Eyes, nose and the tip of the ears are cut out from nori, eyeballs are cut out from fish ball and the mouth and cheeks are cut out from red capsicum.

The Pikachu is so cute! I like it a lot! Can I borrow the idea?
Thanks Ai Ping teacher
It’s actually not my own idea. I saw it at some Japanese bento blog. She used sweet potato to make the Pikachu. So I just tried it out with my mashed potato
