Bento Break And My Cubed Rice
Hubby’s away for business trip for two weeks so I will have a long bento break. I will try out my bento tools during this two weeks.
Today I tried using the rice mould I bought last saturday at a newly opened 100 yen shop in Penang. The mould shapes the rice into small cubes. My cubed rice look ugly because I was hungry already and just simply moulded them. If you put adequate amount of rice, the cubes will certainly come out nicer and square. With this mould, I can estimate how much rice to put in hubby’s lunch box! I can start on putting 12 cubes into the bento and then add or minus in his next bento if he thinks it’s too little or too much. Thus, he will get just the right amount of rice to fill his stomach everyday and not too full.
There wasn’t any smiley face on the rice because I wanna show him that I’m moody whenever he’s not around. Hope he reads this post. Haha! I don’t do much decorations for my own meals.
Press the rice with the other part of the mould
Remove the yellow parts (it has holes at the bottom for you to push the parts out)
Remove the parts from each other and you get your cubed rice
These are the simple steps of making your cubed rice.

I heard about this new 100 Yen Shop in Tg Tokong from my sister. I used to order them from ebay. Time for me to scout around since I’m back in town until October
Thank you for sharing the info. Now, with a kid, I’m planning to make his dining time more fun
Hi, your kid sure enjoys his/her meals
